Matias teaches a more “natural” style of Tango that has helped thousands of students of all levels to quickly advance. No matter what level you are at, you will strengthen and deepen both your ease and skill in dancing Tango.

$130 for Sat. & Sun. workshop: 8 hours of classes + milonga

($10 for Friday Milonga class + Practica)

$35 for single workshops; $10 for Milonga (if not attending full weekend)

$100/hr for Private Lessons by appointment (couples may attend together)

More about Matias Sotto:

Matias Sotto is an internationally recognized Tango Instructor and award-winning dancer who has taught and performed extensively since 2009 in Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Shanghai, Manilla, and Mexico City. We are fortunate to host Mati for his third extended residency in the USA. In the fall of 2023 during his first visit to the USA he was a featured performer and instructor with Luciana Valle at the Portland Tango Festival.

Mati guides his students in a more “natural” style of tango informed by his training in biomechanics, pilates and ballet. He credits his training to the highly respected Tango mentors Carlos Peréz, Rosa Forte, Daniel Nacucchio, Cristina Sosa and Luciana Valle, and to his Biomechanics and Ballet teacher Marcela Trapé.

Dancers appreciate Mati's ability to identify and teach the fundamentals of tango for both leaders and followers by coaching them to move in a more balanced, effortless and natural way. He focuses on strengthening his students' ability to master the elements of tango so they can more easily incorporate these "building blocks" into their social dancing for more ease and creativity.
